L’Art De La Guerre (ADLG) Rules for Northern League 2018

The competition is open for single players or teams of 2, using armies of 200 points.

Round 1; Classical/Roman 500 BC - 500AD 

Round 2; Medieval 1320 AD – 1500 AD 

Round 3; Biblical Ancient and America 3000BC – 501BC for non-American lists.
Any list from the America section of the lists is permitted, but no Europeans are allowed. 

Round 4; Dark Age/Feudal 501A.D. – 1319 A.D. (No Medium Knights allowed). 

Round 5; Open Any List. (With a free Twix to any player bringing an American army). 

For the first 4 it's any army within the dates shown and is not restricted to the named list sections.

The rules to be used are L’Art De La Guerre (The organisers reserve the right to issue sanctioned amendments at their own discretion).

The valid armies lists are to be from the main rule book.

As with other competition of this nature, players are required to supply their own terrain in accordance with their chosen army

Admission to the Northern Doubles League is at the sole discretion of the organisers and their decision on all matters is final. An application to enter the Northern Double League denotes acceptance of these rules.

Also by playing in the Northern Doubles League you give the organisers the right to keep information about you and your team, (this will not be passed on to anybody outside the N.D.L), except for the end of the year results which are passed on to viracochas for adding to the ADLG results data base.

Games will be played to  2.25 hours long depending on the venue at the time of the round.

Games not finished by the allotted time will be ended by the use of the WHISTLE STOP RULES see below.


"Whistle Stop": "Time" is called at a semi-random time, within 00 to 05 minutes either side of the published finish time. When "Time" is called, the game stops IMMEDIATELY and the result at that point is calculated, except that if in any phase has started (something has been physically done) it is completed.

ARMIES LISTS should be done using The Little Army Designer, (Found at http://www.littlearmybuilder.com/adg/en/ ) and indicate the players name and club, if any.

All army list and entry fees must be submitted 15 days before each round of the competition date and may be sent by post or by e-mail, Submission of inaccurate, incomplete or poorly laid out and late lists will be penalised.

This year the only the 4 highest scores of the 5 rounds will count for the final team league score.
