Northern D.B.M. League 2000 |
Salutations, leaguers, and welcome to the 2000 season.
Firstly, to those leaguers in their first season with us, we would
like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment that
Wargaming, at any level, should be FRIENDLY, FUN and FAIR. In
other words, should a dispute arise, either roll a dice for a
simple matter, or call the umpire for a more definitive ruling,
BUT REMEMBER, be FRIENDLY and FAIR.
As some of you may already be aware, the Northern DBM League is
now being classed, by the BHGS as a "minor" ranked tournament,
based on final placing at the end of the year. In the past, the
organizers have stated their opposition to ranking and all that
it may entail. However, our results are now published onto the
Internet and are deemed to be in the Public Domain, and therefore
free to use. We would stress, however, that the ranking is to
be based on final year-end placing, and as such, should not create
the pressures that other tournaments may. Any team or player expressing
opposition to being "ranked" should contact Colin, Mike
or Geoff, so that we can approach the ranking organization and
request non-inclusion.
We restate that the Northern DBM League is all about FUN, FAIR, and FRIENDLY wargaming. If you have any difficulty in keeping to these three MAJOR guidelines, all we can do is say Bye-Bye, Game elsewhere.
Nasty ranty bit over, enjoy the 2000 season, see you on the podium
at the Mailed Fist, Hyde, on the 19th March, and may
your dice always roll 1's (especially when playing your humble
and servile organizers).
